In Sa Seng village, Ta Phin commune, small rice jars are silently containing great hearts. Every day, each female union member saves a handful of rice, contributing 1-2kg each month to join hands in helping people in difficult circumstances in the community.
Implemented from May 2026, the "rice jar of love" model quickly received the response of a large number of women's union members in the village.
From rice and mobilized and donated funds, after a short time, the model supported 11 gifts and rice for poor households, people with disabilities, lonely elderly people, and orphaned children; and at the same time presented a special gift worth 500,000 VND to an orphaned student who overcame difficulties and rose up in his studies. The total value of the first phase of support reached 6.5 million VND.

What is precious is that the resources creating the model do not come from large contributions but from the sharing of each family.
After periodic collection in the last week of each month, in addition to rice, members also voluntarily contribute instant noodles, cooking oil, blankets, clothes, books and school supplies to support those in difficult circumstances.
Our family does not become poor because we reduce a handful of rice each day, but when we contribute, people in the village have more warm meals when they are in difficulty" - Ms. Nong Thi Hai Yen, a member of the women's union of Ta Phin commune and one of the active members of the model, shared.
Currently, Ta Phin commune still has about 300 people who need to be cared for and supported, such as poor households, near-poor households, people with disabilities, lonely elderly people, orphans, single women or families facing unexpected events.
For them, meaningful rice bags not only help alleviate immediate difficulties but are also a source of spiritual encouragement to continue overcoming adversity.

Periodically every month or on holidays and Tet, the Commune Women's Union organizes the distribution of rice and gifts to those in need of support. Each household receives from 2 - 5kg of rice or more depending on actual conditions and the mobilization source of the model. Thanks to that, many lonely elderly people no longer have to worry about food shortages in the lean season days; children in difficult circumstances are given more motivation to go to school; families in distress have more sharing from the community.
According to Mr. Truong Xuan Chieu - Vice Chairman of Ta Phin Commune People's Committee, the locality highly appreciates the effectiveness and humanistic meaning of the model.
In the coming time, the commune will continue to direct mass organizations to replicate the model to villages and hamlets in the area, and at the same time link it with new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction programs," Mr. Chieu said.
