Hai Phong - Traffic police discovered and assisted an old man who got lost on the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway, bringing him home safely near Tet.

During patrols and inspections on the highway connecting Hanoi with Hai Phong, the Traffic Police Team under the Traffic Police Department discovered a elderly man wandering in the middle of the lane, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety. The old man showed signs of fatigue, inexperience, and uncontrolled movement.

Faced with the dangerous situation, the Task Force quickly stopped the vehicle, approached, and took the old man to a safe area to inquire, care for, and reassure him. Through exchange, the old man said his name was Nguyen Ba Lam but did not remember the address of his residence.

Recognizing this as a case of an elderly person showing signs of straying, officers and soldiers urgently deployed professional measures, and at the same time coordinated with Tran Phu Commune Police, Hai Phong City to verify personal information.

After a short period of verification, functional forces identified: he is Nguyen Ba Lam, born in 1944, residing in An Xa village, Tran Phu commune, Hai Phong city.

Immediately after that, the police force contacted the family and organized to bring the old man home safely. Relatives said that due to old age and memory decline, the old man had strayed from home, and the family was organizing searches in many places in a worried mood. The fact that the old man was discovered and supported in time helped the family reunite early in the period near Tet.

The incident demonstrates the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness and timeliness of the Traffic Police force in the process of performing their duties, contributing to ensuring safety for people and maintaining order and traffic safety on the expressway.
