Police search and return lost property to 2 French tourists

Police forces in Hue City, Hanoi promptly verified, searched, and returned lost property to tourists.

According to the Ministry of Public Security's electronic information portal, on the afternoon of January 28, 2026, while cycling to visit Kim Long ward (Hue City), Mr. Clément (born in 2001, French nationality) dropped his mobile phone on Ly Nam De street.

After searching and inquiring about people and surrounding facilities but without results, Mr. Clément went to Kim Long Ward Police to report the incident.

Immediately after receiving the information, Kim Long Ward Police urgently deployed verification measures, mobilized officers and soldiers to survey related areas. The handling process was carried out urgently and proactively, and the police force went in many directions to quickly identify and recover lost property.

After about 3 hours of effort, the phone was identified and found in the My Thuong ward area (Hue City). The property was picked up by a resident in Kim Long ward and voluntarily handed over to the police agency. Kim Long ward police have completed the necessary procedures and organized the return of the property to Mr. Clément in accordance with regulations.

Similarly, at about 7:30 pm on January 27, 2026, Ms. Odile-Amon Eva N'goran (born in 1998, French nationality) moved from the central area of Hanoi City to Terminal T2 - Noi Bai International Airport to check in for a flight back to France at night.

Due to carelessness, Ms. N'goran lost her personal phone containing a lot of important information such as electronic air tickets, bank data and work documents. As a foreigner coming to Vietnam for the first time, in a state of confusion and anxiety, Ms. N'goran went to the Noi Bai International Airport Police Station to report the incident and request support.

Through exchange, functional forces determined Ms. N'goran's itinerary from the hotel in Hoan Kiem ward (Hanoi) to Noi Bai airport.

Thanks to applying working measures, reviewing the entire travel distance, coordinating with relevant units to organize the search for lost property, at about 12:00 on January 28, 2026, Noi Bai International Airport Police Station found the phone and proceeded to hand it over to Ms. Odile-Amon Eva N'goran according to regulations.

Moved by the sense of responsibility, dedication and professionalism of the Vietnamese Police force, Ms. Odile-Amon Eva N'goran sent a thank-you letter to the Noi Bai International Airport Police Station.
