Vietnam is concerned about the US announcement of additional tariffs on goods from oil suppliers to Cuba.

On February 2, 2026, answering a reporter's question asking to know Vietnam's reaction to the US announcement on January 29, 2026, to impose additional tariffs on goods from countries supplying oil to Cuba, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated clearly:

Vietnam is deeply concerned about the US's new measure of applying additional tariffs to goods from countries supplying oil to Cuba, seriously affecting the economic, social and life of Cuban people.

Vietnam reaffirmed its support for resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly over many years, calling on the US to immediately lift unilateral encirclement and embargo measures against Cuba and take steps towards dialogue and improve relations with Cuba.

Once again, Vietnam strongly affirms the traditional solidarity and friendship with the brotherly Cuban people.
