On behalf of officers and soldiers of the Border Guard who are on duty on the border and island routes of the Fatherland, Major General Van Ngoc Que respectfully thanked the feelings, concern, and companionship of Lao Dong Newspaper and companion units, sponsors over the years, especially in 2025, for encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers of the Army in general and the Border Guard in particular to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
According to Major General Van Ngoc Que, the Border Guard is currently mainly operating in border and island areas with nearly 2,000 stations, scattered and scattered; many areas are still difficult, even without phone signal. Therefore, ensuring cultural facilities according to the regulations of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army at border posts, as well as some units on the islands of the Navy, is still limited.
In 2025 alone, according to the coordination program, there are still more than 600 border guard stations without information waves. Coordination programs will continue to be implemented to gradually overcome this situation.
Major General Van Ngoc Que said that according to regulations on cultural institutions in the Army, units from the company level upwards must have a complete system to serve the spiritual life of officers and soldiers. For the Border Guard, stations and equivalent units upwards must have bookshelves with about 10-12 newspaper titles and implement a daily newspaper reading regime; in which, Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the newspaper titles equipped at the grassroots level.
Also according to Major General Van Ngoc Que, in 2025, propaganda work on borders and Border Guards was promoted by press agencies inside and outside the Army.
According to statistics from the Political Department of the Border Guard, there have been over 30,000 news, articles, reports, and programs reflecting on the border, Border Guards, and the lives of officers and soldiers and ethnic minorities in border areas.
Lao Dong Newspaper alone has published about 2,200 news and articles about the armed forces, focusing a lot of content on borders and islands.
Major General Van Ngoc Que emphasized that the program "Sports for Soldiers" organized by Lao Dong Newspaper on the occasion of the Lunar New Year every year is of practical significance, especially in the context that the armed forces must be on combat readiness duty with a high number of troops. For the Border Guard, units are on duty at 50% or more, teams and posts are on duty at 100%; agencies according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense are on duty at 25-30%.
During Tet, in addition to the task of protecting borders and islands, the force also participates in ensuring security and order in the area so that people can enjoy Spring and welcome Tet safely. Tet newspaper publications, including Lao Dong Newspaper, contribute to serving spiritual life, encouraging officers and soldiers to feel secure in their work" - Major General Van Ngoc Que emphasized.
Major General Van Ngoc Que respectfully received the publications of Lao Dong Newspaper, and at the same time expressed his wish that the "Báo tặng Chiến sĩ" program will continue to be maintained, developed, and spread to the forces performing tasks on the borders and islands of the Fatherland.
