Helping foreign tourists get their wallets dropped in Phu Quoc

NGUYÊN ANH |

On the way to work, Mr. Quy (working at the Veterans Association of Phu Quoc City) picked up a wallet and reported to the authorities to find the owner who dropped it.

On March 20, the Immigration Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police said that it had handed over lost assets and identification documents to a foreign tourist of Chinese nationality.

Previously, at around 8:30 a.m. on March 19, on his way to work, Mr. Nguyen Van Quy (working at the Veterans Association of Phu Quoc City) picked up a wallet containing money in the Tran Hung Dao Street roundabout area, Quarter 7, Duong Dong Ward. Checking inside, Mr. Quy discovered personal documents with information about foreigners, along with some Vietnamese currency (about 3 million VND) and foreign currency.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quy brought the above documents and assets to the Working Group (under the Immigration Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police) to support the search and return of the lost assets.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Working Group of the Immigration Department in Phu Quoc urgently verified the information of the foreigners involved. After an hour of verification, the staff of the Immigration Department contacted Ms. Y.C.H, born in 1998, a Chinese national temporarily residing in Ganh Gio Hamlet, Cua Duong Commune, Phu Quoc City to receive her documents and assets.

At the headquarters of the Phu Quoc City Veterans Association, Ms. H expressed her joy and sent her thanks to Mr. Nguyen Van Quy and the staff of the Immigration Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police for helping her find the lost property.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quy's actions also demonstrate the cultural beauty of Phu Quoc people, contributing to building the image of a safe and friendly tourist destination in the hearts of foreign tourists.
