The drops of pink are given away
Before the Dream Drop Club was established on November 18, 2024, the founding members regularly donated blood, donated platelets and participated in charity activities.
A small Zalo group of more than 10 members was established to exchange information about patients in need of blood, cases in need of support and volunteer programs.
There are calls coming at night, when a patient urgently needs blood or platelets. Members of the Club immediately find suitable people and connect with the hospital. Some people donate and return to be on time for work the next morning.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - Head of the Dream Drop Club - said that connecting donors with patients in need of blood is an activity that has been maintained from the early days.
Behind a unit of blood is a person, a family, a story about life. When I started donating blood and participating in more activities, I understood that even more," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong.
As one of the 100 typical blood donors nationwide in 2026, Lieutenant Colonel QNCN Dinh Thi Ha (Military Ship Design Institute, General Department of National Defense Industry) regularly participates in blood donation and platelet donation with the Club.
According to her, the value of this activity also lies in the fact that each person after participating continues to mobilize those around them.
There are people who are initially hesitant, but after understanding more about blood donation, they boldly participate. When you do it first, then share with those around you, good deeds will have more opportunities to be extended," Ms. Ha shared.
In 2025 and from the beginning of 2026 to now, the Club and members, volunteers have connected more than 1,300 turns of people participating in blood donation, platelet donation, with nearly 1,400 units of blood and platelets received.
From a drop of blood to sharing
From blood donation activities, the Club gradually expanded to support patients in difficult circumstances, children in mountainous, remote and isolated areas, people affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, and children with thalassemia.
The gifts are sometimes just sticky rice boxes, water bottles, warm clothes, rice, milk or school supplies. Some contribute funds, some contribute items, some support means and time.
The value of a gift is not only in the price, but in the fact that it comes at the right time and tells the recipient: You are not alone," Ms. Hong said.
The Club's activities have also been expanded thanks to members from many localities. From Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Pham Tran Dinh Hoa and his friends regularly accompany programs.
It's not always possible for me to be present directly. But I can still contribute a part of the funding, items or connect more participants. The important thing is that those contributions reach the right places they need," Mr. Hoa shared.
Currently, the Club has more than 100 members in many provinces and cities. The "Red Messenger" group has more than 2,000 members, and the fanpage "Drops of Red Giving Dreams" has more than 12,000 followers. Since its establishment, the Club has implemented more than 20 programs in many localities.
According to the Club's statistics, the total value of funds, goods and items mobilized and donated is nearly 1.5 billion VND.
You don't need to have a lot of money to do a good job. If you are healthy enough, you can donate a unit of blood. If you have time, you can go on a charity trip together. And if you can't do those things yet, you can share information to let more people know," Ms. Hong shared.
