On September 5, Hoa Thinh Commune Police, Dak Lak province informed that the unit had just verified and returned a handbag containing nearly 5 million VND in cash and many personal belongings to a tourist who dropped them while visiting the area.
Notably, the person who picked up the property was a 4th grade student.
Previously, at about 5:30 pm on August 29, 2026, Pham Nhat Huy, a 4th grade student, while playing, picked up a black handbag.
Not knowing whose property the bag was, Huy and his grandfather brought it to the Hoa Thinh Commune Police headquarters to hand over, asking the police force to find the person who dropped it to return it.
Through inspection, inside the handbag there were 4,872,000 VND in cash and some personal belongings. However, the bag did not have personal papers or specific information to identify the owner.
Immediately after receiving the property, Hoa Thinh Commune Police searched for the person who dropped it.
After about 40 minutes, the police force determined that the handbag was the property of Ms. Le Thi Hoang Lan (born 1993, residing in Binh Hung commune, Ho Chi Minh City). Ms. Lan dropped the bag while visiting and traveling in Hoa Thinh commune.
Receiving the property back, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Lan expressed her gratitude for the honesty and responsibility of Pham Nhat Huy and his family.
