Despite the difficulties, lottery ticket sellers, the elderly, teachers and students in the mountainous areas of Quang Nam… also turn their hearts to the flood victims in the North.

A little torn leaf covers a lot torn leaf

In recent days, a short video shared by Mr. Vu Thanh Tai, in Tam Ky, Quang Nam on Facebook, about a disabled young man who sells lottery tickets and decides to donate his gifts to support the people of the North affected by storms and floods, has touched the hearts of many people.

Mr. Tai said: "While gathering goods sent by people from all over to donate to people in the North, a disabled young man riding a bicycle, about 25 years old, stopped by my shop and politely asked: Sir, please let me donate 200 thousand to support people in flood-hit areas. This is a gift someone gave me, I would like to give it to people in need."

“Seeing her limping and struggling, I refused and said - I accept your kindness, please keep it for yourself, because you are also struggling. We only accept necessities here.

Unexpectedly, a moment later, he returned with a box of instant noodles and a message: "I only have my heart, I hope you will accept it."

"His enthusiasm and love for sharing with his fellow countrymen touched us deeply" - Mr. Tai shared.

On September 15, we met Ho Minh Diem (in Binh An, Thang Binh) - the disabled young man in the above story, wandering the streets of Tam Ky with a stack of lottery tickets in hand.

Diem said: "A few years ago, an unexpected accident made my legs unstable, and I began to have difficulty speaking. I had to give up my dream job and sell lottery tickets every day to make a living. I have received support and help from many people, so I want to share with my fellow countrymen who are facing difficulties."

"Sharing food and clothes" with fellow countrymen

Mr. Nguyen Binh Nam - Head of the Friends Club, in Da Nang City, is currently in the flooded area to deliver gifts and support money from people everywhere to people in the North, said:

Among them, there is a special letter from Mr. Bui Ngoc Luan - Principal of Nam Tra My District Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Quang Nam to Ca Dong students. The letter reads:

“Reading the news about the storm and flood in the North, I was heartbroken in every way. People died, homes were destroyed. I remembered my school, which had also experienced that pain. At that time, all hearts turned to Nam Tra My. This S-shaped land, with its steadfast and indomitable people - more than that, the tradition of charity "the poor help the poor".

...Although I know that we still have many hardships, love is sharing. I hope you understand and share, little things, much love.

One less ice cream bar is one more loaf of bread for your child’s peer who is holding a life preserver on a flooded roof. Love given is forever…”.

"During the time of trouble, the Nam Tra My highlands received a lot of love from the people, so teachers and students want to share the difficulties with the people in the North who suffered from floods, as a way to respond to that sincerity" - Mr. Luan shared.
