New Year's Eve Dinner - Happy New Year
The New Year’s Eve meal is an indispensable part of every Vietnamese family. It is a time to gather together, share and honor family values. For cancer patients struggling with the disease, these moments become even more special and meaningful.
In order to bring a warm atmosphere of reunion at the hospital, K Hospital has organized many meaningful activities such as taking Tet photos, donating hair to patients, the year-end meal program and the "Love Bus" taking patients home to celebrate Tet.
At noon on January 21 (December 22), at Tan Trieu facility, K Hospital coordinated with the Bright Tomorrow Fund and Vietnam Television to organize the program "Year-end meal - Tet reunion". Nearly 2,000 patients and their relatives gathered around 200 trays of food at the hospital canteen, enjoying traditional dishes such as banh chung, nem, gio...
Many tears were shed, words of thanks were said, and hugs of love created an atmosphere of reunion and sharing. Cancer patients immersed themselves in the warm atmosphere of Tet, sharing moments of reunion with their treatment companions, dedicated medical staff, and traditional dishes.
Ms. Tran Thi H - a patient receiving chemotherapy at Internal Medicine Department 6 - emotionally shared: “This treatment falls right before Tet, at first I was worried because of the difficulty of traveling, especially during the time when traffic is heavy. But when I learned that the hospital organized a year-end meal program and supported patients to return home for free, I was really touched. I did not expect to have the opportunity to celebrate Tet in such a warm and family-friendly way during treatment. I am very grateful for the care of the hospital and the benefactors who brought a meaningful and loving Tet.”
For patients who are not healthy enough to attend the program, hospital representatives have visited each bed, encouraged and given nearly 800 nutritious meals, full of sharing. In particular, the hospital will prepare full meals for patients staying for treatment, bringing them more peace of mind and warmth during the Tet holiday away from home.
The loving bus takes patients home for Tet
After the meal, special buses called "Love Bus" took nearly 300 patients and their relatives back to their hometowns. This is the 8th year that K Hospital has organized this meaningful program, helping to reduce the economic burden and anxiety of patients.
The buses departing from the “K Hospital Bus Station of Love” carry joy, smiles and tears of patients when they return home to reunite with their families.
During the two sessions held on January 21 and 23, K Hospital will take patients to provinces such as Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Ha Tinh...
Doctor Vu Van H - treated at the Thoracic Radiology Department - shared: "I am very excited because I don't have to jostle at the bus station. The hospital organized a bus to my hometown, saving costs and receiving such care, I am truly grateful."
