On July 6, information from Vinh Linh Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that the unit had just connected and supported the return of assets worth nearly 75 million VND and a laptop.
Previously, at about 9 am on the same day, Mr. Luu Van Bien (born in 1964, residing in Thuong Hoa village, Vinh Linh commune) came to the Hall of the Thuong Hoa village Community Learning Center and discovered a forgotten laptop bag.
After asking around the hall area but no one received it, Mr. Bien took the bag home. When he opened it to check inside to find contact information, he discovered that in addition to the computer, there was also a large amount of cash of nearly 75 million VND. Immediately, Mr. Bien called the Vinh Linh commune police with the desire to ask the functional forces to quickly verify and find the real owner of the above property to return it.
Upon receiving the information, Vinh Linh commune police urgently intervened to verify and identified the owner of the property as Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh Huyen, an employee of Vinh Linh Post Office.
According to functional agencies, Ms. Huyen came to Thuong Hoa village to perform the task of collecting electricity bills and paying allowances to policy beneficiaries in the area. During the working process, Ms. Huyen carelessly dropped a handbag containing the entire amount of money collected and spent along with the above-mentioned working computer.
Thanks to the timely connection of Vinh Linh commune police, Ms. Huyen went to Mr. Luu Van Bien's house to receive all her property back.
Too touched and happy to find the large amount of money back, Ms. Huyen sent her sincere thanks and offered to give Mr. Bien some money as a reward. However, Mr. Bien refused to accept the money and said that this was something he should do.
It is known that Mr. Luu Van Bien is a reputable person in the locality, he has participated as a village police officer and participated in the security team at the grassroots level for more than 20 years.
