Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision 1156/QD-TTg on consolidating members of the Price Management Steering Committee.
According to Decision 1156/QD-TTg, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang is the Head of the Steering Committee for Price Management.
Mr. Ngo Van Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Finance as Deputy Head of the Committee.
The members of the Steering Committee include: Mr. Le Tan Can - Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Le Duc Luan - Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Le Quan - Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Vo Van Hung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Manh Khuong - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Sang - Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Pham Duc Long - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Thanh Ha - Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Ms. Mai Thi Thu Van - Deputy Chairman of the Government Office.
According to Decision No. 690/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Price Management Steering Committee, the Steering Committee has the task of researching and assisting the Prime Minister in considering, approving or deciding on major policies and orientations on price management and management in each period; implementing synchronously policies on prices of important and essential goods and services.
Decide on specific price management measures for some important and essential goods and services suitable for each period; implement price stabilization measures for important and essential goods and services.
The Steering Committee also helps the Prime Minister direct ministries, agencies, and People's Committees of provinces and cities to implement state management of prices in accordance with the Government's goals and requirements on curbing inflation and stabilizing the macroeconomy in each period; handle a number of other issues related to price management of some important and essential goods and services when assigned by the Prime Minister.
At the same time, the Steering Committee assists the Prime Minister in organizing discussions, seminars, and seeking opinions from experts, scientists, industry associations, organizations and related individuals on guidelines, policies, and solutions for price management and administration when necessary; surveying and researching practices at home and abroad within the scope of assigned tasks to improve the capacity and operational efficiency of the Steering Committee.
