On January 28, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command confirmed that it had just learned of a case in which a professional soldier from the unit found lost property and sought out the owner to return it.
Previously, on January 18, Ms. Vo Thi Thu Ha (born in 1977, residing in Hoan Cat village, Cam Nghia commune, Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province) went to Cua market (Cam Chinh commune, Cam Lo district) and dropped her handbag.
Inside the bag were personal papers and more than 10 million VND.
At this time, Captain Le Anh Dong - a security guard at the training ground, Training Department, General Staff Department of Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, was on duty when he discovered the bag.
Checking inside, Captain Dong discovered personal documents and cash, so he went to the owner's house to return it. After finishing, Captain Dong continued his mission without reporting to the unit commander.
Ms. Thu Ha said that the more than 10 million VND in the bag was a large sum of money for her family, and she was very worried when she lost it. When Captain Dong came to her house to return it, she was very happy and touched.
Therefore, she wrote a letter to the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, thanking the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command for educating and training officers and soldiers well.
Captain Dong said that picking up lost property and finding the owner to return it is the right thing to do, it is a matter of responsibility and ethics.
“I thought it was natural and everyone had to do it, so I didn't report it to the unit,” said Captain Dong.
