Ho Chi Minh City speeds up progress of Long Thanh airport connection projects

HCMC - The An Phu intersection project, Ring Road 2, 3, and the expansion of the HCMC - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway are required to speed up progress to connect to Long Thanh airport.

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport on February 5, to ensure the progress of projects connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh International Airport under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Department of Transport proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee direct the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works (Transport Board) to urgently carry out a number of tasks.

In particular, focusing on mobilizing human resources, machinery, equipment, supplies and construction materials to speed up the construction progress of projects to be completed in December 2025, including: the overpass section in Thu Duc city of Component Project 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Construction Investment Project; An Phu Intersection Construction Project (Thu Duc city).

The Transport Department is speeding up the progress of investment preparation for the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 project (section from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street and section from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street), ensuring construction starts in the second quarter of 2025; construction is completed before June 30, 2026.

The Transport Department quickly deployed the project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (the section connecting An Phu intersection to Ring Road 2, about 4km long), ensuring the construction progress will start in the third quarter of 2025 and be completed in the third quarter of 2026.

Previously, on January 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha inspected the site and had a working session to review the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport construction investment project and the implementation of projects connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh International Airport.

Regarding a number of projects and works connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Long Thanh International Airport, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha directed Ho Chi Minh City to focus on ensuring the progress of the projects (Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project; An Phu Intersection Construction Project; Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 Project, section from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street and section from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street) and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway Expansion Project (section connecting An Phu Intersection to Ring Road 2, about 4km long)...
