On the morning of September 14, rain in Quang Tri province decreased, water in many mountainous and delta areas continued to recede. With the motto "water recedes to where, overcomes to there", military forces, police and local authorities urgently mobilized people and vehicles to support people to stabilize their lives.

In Lao Bao commune, one of the mountainous areas heavily flooded during this rain and flood, as soon as the water receded, Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station coordinated with Lao Bao Commune Police, Lao Bao Commune Military Command and Lao Bao Commune People's Committee to deploy forces to residential areas.

Previously, on September 13, heavy rain caused the Se Pon River water to rise, hundreds of houses in Lao Bao commune were flooded from 0.5m to nearly 3m. Faced with the rapid water level rise, the forces coordinated to relocate 441 households with 1,606 people in Trieu Phuoc, Tan Phuoc, Vinh Dong, Tan Long, Tan Thanh, Lang Vay, Tan Kim, Trieu Long and Trieu Thanh villages to safe places.

From the evening of September 13 to the early morning of September 14, rainfall in Lao Bao decreased, water levels on rivers and streams decreased by more than 3m. By 4 am on September 14, water at flooded points had receded, traffic was basically restored, and there were no longer isolated areas.

The floodwaters receded, leaving a large amount of mud, trees and garbage in people's houses, gardens and roads. Many families, although they have been able to return, cannot live normally because they have to continue cleaning their houses, treating mud and fixing damaged furniture.

Not letting people fend for themselves, the forces immediately divided into many groups to go down to each affected area.

Lao Bao International Border Gate Border Guard Station organized 2 working groups with 20 officers and soldiers, coordinating with Lao Bao Commune Police, Lao Bao Commune Military Command and local authorities to directly support households.

In areas that have just stopped flooding, officers and soldiers and people shovel mud, sweep houses, collect garbage, and clean traffic roads and residential areas.

The recovery is implemented according to the water receding situation. In areas where water recedes, forces immediately approach to support people in cleaning up, limiting dry mud and the risk of environmental pollution after floods. In addition to supporting people, border guards must also urgently overcome damage at duty locations along the border.

By the morning of September 14, National Highway 15D - the road to La Lay International Border Gate was cleared after landslide points were repaired.

According to initial statistics, the flood caused more than 700 households in Quang Tri province to be flooded. Nearly 800 households were relocated to safe places. The flood also caused flooding and division at dozens of traffic points; more than 350 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and fallen.
