On the morning of September 12, Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Son My commune (Lam Dong province) said that functional forces of Son My commune coordinated with Tan Thang Border Guard Station to deploy a plan to support the salvage of fishing vessel BTh 80168 TS that sank in the Ho Lan estuary area.
At about 3 am on the same day, fishing boat BTh 80168 TS of fisherman N.C.D, engaged in crab net fishing, after finishing the fishing trip and on the way to Ho Lan estuary, encountered an accident in the sandbar area, about 100m from the shore.

According to initial information, at the time the ship encountered the accident, the sea was strong and the water flowed swiftly due to floodwaters from the Co Kieu River flowing into the estuary. The water flow caused the ship to capsize and then sink.
Mr. D. managed to swim ashore safely. Property damage is estimated at about 150 million VND.
After receiving the news, Tan Thang Border Guard Station, Son My Commune Military Command and people in the village mobilized manpower and vehicles to deploy a plan to salvage the ship.

However, the ship sank at a deep water location and was silted up with sand, making it difficult to approach and salvage. By noon on the same day, functional forces had supported bringing the distressed vehicle ashore.
