The working delegation of Military Region 2 led by Major General Pham Hung Hung, Deputy Commander of Military Region 2, has just visited, encouraged and provided support to people affected by flash floods and landslides in Muong Than commune, Lai Chau province, according to the Lai Chau Provincial Electronic Information Portal.


Visiting the affected families, Major General Pham Hung Hung shared the loss and encouraged people to overcome difficulties soon. The working delegation presented 3,000kg of rice, 1,000kg of dry rations; supported 5 million VND for families with deceased people and 2 million VND for people injured by natural disasters. The gifts contributed to helping people stabilize their lives in the early days after the flood.
Major General Pham Hung Hung requested the Military Command of Lai Chau province to continue to coordinate the relocation of people and property out of dangerous areas, prioritizing the elderly, children and vulnerable groups.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, leaders of Lai Chau province and forces, departments, and branches were present at the scene to direct response, rescue, relief, overcome consequences and support people to safe places.

Along with functional forces, officers and soldiers of the Lai Chau Provincial Military Command urgently mobilized to the scene, searching for missing people, relocating people and property, clearing mud, repairing houses, transporting food and necessities to isolated areas.
With the spirit of "where people encounter difficulties, there are soldiers", the armed forces of Lai Chau province continue to stand side by side with the Party Committee, government and people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize life.
