On June 20, Phuoc Ha Commune People's Committee said that the unit had just organized a launching ceremony for the "Hope Station" model.
According to Phuoc Ha Commune Police, the model is built on the basis of actual surveys of cases of people who have completed prison sentences and people after drug rehabilitation in the area.
The survey results of 19 cases, including 11 people who completed their prison sentences and 8 people after drug detoxification, showed that 100% well complied with the law and there were no cases of recidivism. However, besides that, there are still many difficult cases in the process of reintegrating into the community.
Specifically, 58.9% of respondents do not have stable jobs and 63.7% face economic difficulties. Many cases want to do honest business but are still limited in terms of capital, skills and job opportunities.
From this reality, the "Hope Station" model was established to connect local authorities, police forces, mass organizations with businesses and credit institutions to support rehabilitated people and people after detoxification to access economic development resources.
Through the model, those in need will be supported to access preferential loans, introduce jobs, learn a trade and build suitable livelihoods, creating conditions to stabilize their lives and reintegrate into the community.
At the launching ceremony, the participation of Thuan Nam Social Policy Bank and businesses in the area showed their companionship in implementing policies to support reformed people and people after detoxification.
According to local representatives, the "Hope Station" model is expected to be effective in management, education, and community reintegration support; contributing to reducing the risk of recidivism and re-addiction, while maintaining the results of building a drug-free area, ensuring security and order at the grassroots level.
