On the afternoon of September 19, Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper coordinated with Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to organize the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen".
The Organizing Committee presented 200 gifts to fishing households. Each gift is worth more than 5 million VND, including: batteries, LED bulbs, medicine bags, a handbook "Things to know about catching seafood", a box of Con O battery combos, a roll of specialized rope and a voucher worth 1 million VND.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 27 scholarships to studious students who are children of fishermen in Khanh Hoa and children of officials working in Truong Sa archipelago.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee shared that fishermen are the silent heroes, who stick to the sea day and night, protect fishing grounds, and contribute to the prosperity of the country. Combating IUU fishing not only helps protect marine resources but also increases product value, expands markets, and brings a more prosperous life to fishermen and the community.
Since then, the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" has become an extremely meaningful initiative. Today's practical gifts are not only material support but also spiritual encouragement for our fishermen.
