On the morning of September 28, authorities were working to fix a freight train that derailed when it reached the railway section in Lang Co town (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue).
Initial information, at around 3am the same day, locomotive D19E-943 pulled 24 HH16T container cars running on the North-South railway.
When the train reached the Lang Co - Thua Luu section, nearly 4km from Lang Co station, the train's engine derailed.
This is the fifth train derailment to occur in the railway area of Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue in the past 2 months.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, previously, Vietnam Railways Corporation organized inspections, analysis, and evaluation of the causes of train derailments. The cause of train derailment is due to the air spring carriages, when passing over a large-diameter track (Tg 0.15), many unfavorable factors will resonate (of the bogie type of carriage with a large wheel axle distance of 2,200mm).
The train passes at low speed, the time the guiding force increases is prolonged, causing the guide wheel to grip the rail and cause derailment.
