Thai Thinh Secondary School donates 150 million to people in flooded areas

After only 6pm of the call, the Thai Thinh Secondary School collective has called for 150 million VND to support people in flooded areas.

Responding to the call to support the people of the Central and Central Highlands after the flood exceeding historical levels, the collective of cadres, teachers, staff, students and parents of Thai Thinh Secondary School (Dong Da, Hanoi) enthusiastically responded. After only 6pm of calling, the Thai Thinh Secondary School collective has called for 150 million VND. The entire amount has been transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Da ward (Hanoi) to soon reach the hands of people struggling to overcome the severe consequences of storms and floods.

The collective of teachers, staff, students and parents of Thai Thinh Secondary School has a tradition of solidarity in sharing activities, towards the community. For more than 10 years, the school has regularly implemented the "Warm Winter Clothes" program to support students in the Northern mountainous region. Every time the people of the whole country are affected by natural disasters, the school community promptly joins hands, from the hearts of each teacher to parents and students.

During the previous storm No. 11, the school donated 100 million VND and many essential items. This time, when the damage in the Central region is too severe, the call is sent out and after a short time, teachers, parents and students have raised 150 million VND, expressing their desire to contribute a small part to help people soon stabilize their lives," said Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Principal of Thai Thinh Secondary School, Hanoi.

As of the morning of November 27, floods exceeding historical levels in the Central region have left 108 people dead or missing; 426 houses collapsed, 2,066 houses were damaged and 272,666 houses were flooded. The initial preliminary estimated economic damage is about 14,352 billion VND (of which, Quang Ngai is 650 billion VND, Gia Lai is 1,500 billion VND, Dak Lak is 5,500 billion VND, Khanh Hoa is 5,604 billion VND, Lam Dong is 1,098 billion VND).
