On February 24, information from Nghe An Provincial Police said that during the 10 days of Tet Nguyen Dan Binh Ngo 2026 holiday (from February 14 to February 24, 2026), the Traffic Police (CSGT) of Nghe An Provincial Police recorded 2,311 cases of violations of traffic order and safety.
According to a report from Nghe An Traffic Police, the main violations include: alcohol concentration violations (856 cases), speeding, no driver's license, no vehicle registration certificate, not wearing a helmet, and many other violations. Among the cases of alcohol concentration violations, the Traffic Police force temporarily seized 856 vehicles, revoked 30 driver's licenses (GPLX), deducted points for GPLX for 603 cases, with a total estimated fine of more than 3.2 billion VND.
Especially, during the Tet holiday, from 10 am on the 1st day of Tet (February 17), the traffic police force throughout Nghe An province simultaneously launched operations, organizing alcohol concentration checkpoints, without forbidden zones, without exceptions. Traffic police teams and stations coordinated with ward and commune police to organize patrols and inspections on key roads, restaurant areas, eateries, entertainment areas and points where traffic accidents frequently occur.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Manh Hung, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, said that after the Tet holiday, people's travel demand is still high, especially during the early spring festival season. The Traffic Police force will continue to maintain mobile patrol and control teams, strictly handle violations, in order to ensure traffic order and safety, especially during the time when many festivals take place at the beginning of the year.
