Cold-climate hydrangeas bloom on Phu Quoc Island

    Kien Giang - After more than 10 years of research and domestication, the young man has transformed the cold-climate hydrangea flower to adapt to hot land, blooming well on Phu Quoc island.

    Hydrangea is a famous flower that grows in cold climates. However, the family of Mr. Vo Cao Ky (Bai Bon Hamlet, Ham Ninh Commune, Phu Quoc City) was able to successfully breed this cold climate flower to grow and develop well on the island.

    Mr. Ky said that about 15 years ago, his friends gave 2 hydrangea plants to his father, Mr. Vo Tan Chau. Mr. Chau spent 10 years researching to domesticate and breed them. The land and flowers did not disappoint, Mr. Chau gave birth to a flower species called Phu Quoc tropical hydrangea on the sunny and windy island.

    Mr. Ky confided: “Many people supporting and buying flowers is the common desire of gardeners, however, we have to make sure the flowers are of good quality and meet standards so that we can confidently sell them to customers. Growing flowers is not just a business, but it is also a passion that my family wants to share with those who love flowers.”
