Today (September 29), the VTV Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament will take place on the second day of competition.
The match that received the attention of fans was the match between the U21 Vietnam team and the U21 Thailand team. These are the two teams that currently have the most talented young players in the two-country volleyball tournament.
For U21 Vietnam, coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team could not create a surprise in the opening match when they lost 0-3 to Taiwan (China). The Vietnamese representative had a very difficult start to the set when the first-step blocking situations continuously made mistakes.
The main striker Khanh Vy was even arranged by coach Nguyen Trong Linh to play in the libero position to strengthen the defense. However, the developments on the field were not positive. The coaching staff continuously called to consult and cheer on the students, but the mistakes made the young girl feel more psychological and she suffered a final defeat after 3 sets.
Although U21 Vietnam lost the opening match, the main striker Dang Thi Hong still left her personal mark. With 12 points scored, the captain of U21 Vietnam was the athlete with the best score in the match.

On the other side, although they also lost in the opening match, Thailand U21's performance received many compliments from experts and fans.
Against the reigning champion Korabelka (Russia) who were superior in both physique and form, the young Thai girls were still confident in showing their tactical skills.
Against a Korabelka who proactively accelerated the pace and continuously exploited weaknesses in the blocking line, U21 Thailand still showed defensive ability, chasing very weakly thanks to Papatchaya Phontham's stable performance and the experience of captain Kuttika Kaewpin.

There were even times when young girls from the land of the Golden Temple proactively pressured their opponents with dangerous serves, continuously making it difficult for Korabelka to pass first and organize attacks.
Playing bravely, U21 Thailand took the match to the decisive set 5 and only accepted a 2-3 defeat after Korabelka was the team that took advantage of the opportunity in decisive situations.
With a contrasting performance in the opening match, the advantage is leaning towards U21 Thailand. However, with attackers in the squad such as Dang Thi Hong, Anh Thao, Bich Hue, when coordinated with setter Vi Thi Yen Nhi, it will bring hope to the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team.
The match between the U21 Vietnam women's volleyball team and the U21 Thailand women's volleyball team will take place at 2:00 p.m. today (June 29).
