On the morning of May 7, at the Faculty of Literature Hall, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Hanoi), Kim Dong Publishing House in collaboration with the Faculty of Literature organized a seminar "Children's Literature from the perspective of young writers".
The seminar gathers many young researchers, critics and authors such as: critic Bui Viet Thang, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang, Dr. Trinh Dang Nguyen Huong, and writers who have won the first Kim Dong Literature Award (2023 - 2025) including: Giap Thi Thuy Duong, Cao Nguyet Nguyen, Pham Thu Ha and Nguyen Hoang Dieu Thuy.
The seminar aims to look back at the picture of children's literature in the contemporary context, from the position, role to the approach to the child's world of young writers. The open dialogue space allows academic perspectives to meet and experience writing, thereby contributing to evoking new storytelling methods and new aesthetic senses in children's writing.
According to Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien - Deputy Director, Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House, children's literature needs to be continuously renewed to suit the thoughts and worldviews of children today. The organization of the seminar is expected to contribute more multi-dimensional perspectives, opening up more attractive approaches for future creations.
In addition, the Kim Dong Literature Award was also officially launched as a driving force to promote creation in this field. Launched in 2023, the award has recorded 11 works in the first season (2023 - 2025), creating opportunities for professional and amateur writers to send their creations to young readers.

Through the award, Kim Dong Publishing House expects to discover more potential faces, and encourage new art experiments, bringing quality manuscripts closer to readers.
It is known that the second Kim Dong Literature Award (2025 - 2027) will also expand the audience of readers from children, teenagers to young people, with two award systems for works written for children and for young people.
