On June 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, Kim Dong Publishing House organized the Summary of the Children's Compository Campaign 2023 - 2025 and the Awarding of the first Kim Dong Literature Award. The Final Council consisting of writers and poets Tran Duc Tien, Nguyen Nhat Anh, Ly Lan, Nguyen Thuy Anh highly agreed in selecting worthy works for the award.
From more than 600 works, the first Kim Dong Literature Award has found 11 best works.
The organizing committee awarded 11 prizes. The first prize went to the feature film What to do when the weather is windy by author Giai Du. The two Second Prizes were awarded to the feature film adaptation of the story of the Manh Mong Village by author Nguyen Thi Nhu Hien; and the feature film adaptation of the work of the pink truck by author Giap Thi Thuy Duong.
The Third Prize was awarded to the feature film far outside the fields by author Cao Nguyet Nguyen; the poem The World Reversed by author Nguyen Quynh Mai; the feature film Rung Thu Tung by author Pham Thu Ha.
5 Fourth prizes were awarded to the feature film Ba Thuy Duong went to buy scrap metal by author Phat Duong; the feature film Lang ta co ai anh trai by writer Nguyen Quang Lap; the feature film Con trai trong chate xin ma co by author Quyen Gavoye; the feature film The ancient story of an ancient god of the model by author Nguyen Hoang Dieu Thuy; and the feature film Ngay a thien than by author Lac An
Writer Tran Duc Tien - Chairman of the Final Round Council - said: "The main goal of any contest or creative campaign is to have excellent works, discover talented authors. It is written well, talented people are even happier. They are the future of literature in general, and children's literature in particular".
He commented that the most significant success of the first Golden Eagle Literature Award was proven through many outstanding works that were highly awarded by young people.
Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien - Deputy Director, Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House - shared that the first writing campaign and Kim Dong Literature Award continue the tradition of constantly trying to find new works and authors to introduce to Vietnamese readers. At the same time, it creates momentum for further development, in the context of Vietnam promoting the development of cultural industries and promoting culture and literature to the world.
In nearly two years since the award was established and the 2023 - 2025 Writing Campaign was launched, Kim Dong Publishing House has coordinated with literary and artistic associations to organize many meetings and exchanges with authors, between authors and readers across the country.
seminars, creative exchanges, and dialogues with students in Hanoi, Hai Duong, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Gia Lai, Buon M a Thuot, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang... have inspired writers and contributed to spreading the value of Vietnamese children's literature.
Kim Dong Publishing House continues to launch the 2025 - 2027 Writing Campaign and the Second Kim Dong Literature Award for expanded audiences, including: children, adolescents and young people; with two award systems: Kim Dong Literature Award for excellent works written for children and Kim Dong Literature Award for excellent works written for young people.
