At this time, saving electricity is no longer a call but has become a practical, urgent requirement and directly related to the lives of each family, the operations of each business and the stability of the entire economy.
Saving electricity is not only the responsibility of the electricity industry, the State or energy-consuming businesses, but needs to start from very small actions in each family.
An air conditioner placed at 26-28 degrees C, a light bulb turned off when leaving the room, an electrical device removed from a socket when not in use... These actions seem simple, but if implemented by millions of households, the combined effect will be very large.
The Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industry Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) calculated: Just 3,000 key energy-using establishments save at least 2% of electricity consumption/year, equivalent to saving more than 3,200 billion VND in electricity costs. If all 30 million electricity customers practice electricity saving, the efficiency will be many times higher.
At the national level, electricity saving is directly linked to ensuring energy security. Electricity saving is the "first source of energy", not having to exploit more, not having to import more, not causing more environmental pressure, but bringing direct efficiency.
The issue is to turn saving electricity into a habit and social culture. Policies and guidelines are available; the national program on using energy economically and efficiently has been implemented. But policies only go into life and bring efficiency when each citizen, each agency, and each business changes their daily electricity use behavior.
National energy security starts from habits in each family. From a power switch turned off at the right time, a properly installed air conditioner, an optimized production line, a roof installed with solar power, we are contributing to creating a more solid foundation for national energy security.
Saving electricity is not only a hot season issue but needs to be a widespread movement, anytime, anywhere. When each small action is carried out regularly and sustainably, they will combine into a large resource, helping the country reduce energy pressure, develop greener and more sustainably.
