Just because of a collision on the road, someone suffered a traumatic brain injury

Lê Thanh Phong |

A clip has been circulating online showing a person being beaten on the street resulting in a traumatic brain injury. The incident happened after a traffic collision.

The victim was identified as Mr. N.T.B (born in 1986, residing in Ben Cat city).

The incident occurred on December 31, 2024 on My Phuoc Tan Van road, intersection with NE8 road, through Thoi Hoa ward, Ben Cat city, Binh Duong province.

Watching the clip, everyone was scared by the aggressiveness of the man attacking the victim. He used his helmet to hit Mr. B on the head. Then he used his hands, feet to punch and kick the victim's head until he lay motionless.

Mr. B. was taken to the emergency room at Binh Duong General Hospital, then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The patient was in a deep coma, required a ventilator, diagnosed with bilateral frontal brain contusions, low blood pressure, and a poor prognosis.

The subject beat people too brutally, disregarded the health and lives of others, and disregarded the law. In these cases, the perpetrator must be found and dealt with according to the law.

Not only traffic accidents, but no matter what the reason, no one has the right to assault another person. In this case, the assailant intentionally hit the victim in the head, hitting continuously even though the victim was no longer able to resist.

An act that shows signs of hooliganism, intentionally causing injury, even taking the life of another person. Must be pursued and handled according to the provisions of the law, to deter and prevent those who commit hooliganism.

Recently, there have been a series of brutal beatings due to traffic accidents. On December 10, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of District 4 Police - Ho Chi Minh City issued a decision to arrest Bui Thanh Khoa to investigate the act of "Intentionally causing injury". Previously, around December 9, 2024, Khoa brutally beat a woman due to a traffic accident.

On January 1, District 1 Police invited a man and a woman who had beaten a ride-hailing driver on Le Duan Street to come in for questioning. The footage showed the woman punching and stomping on the driver’s head. The man accompanying her kept saying, “Do you know who I am?” When another woman came to intervene, the man also beat her.

There are many other cases where the perpetrators beat people like thugs, just because of road accidents.

To rectify this, along with dealing with those who beat people according to the law, it is necessary to increase penalties for traffic law violations. Strictly complying with traffic regulations is the way to limit collisions, conflicts, and other consequences.

There are many cases where people are not injured or die from traffic collisions, but from subsequent assaults and fights.
