This is first of all extremely good news for hundreds of workers of Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd. because the incident has lasted for too many years and at times there is no hope left.
And behind the figure of more than 10.5 billion VND recovered is a noteworthy story about the Da Nang Trade Union's brave and persistent way of protecting its workers.
Social insurance debt at Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd. (located in the old Quang Nam province) has appeared since 2016. The enterprise has been inspected and fined many times by local authorities, requesting remedial measures, but the debt continues to be prolonged.
By the end of March 2025, when the business stopped operating, the amount of late payment had exceeded 10.3 billion VND. Hundreds of workers quit their jobs but could not finalize social insurance books, and many related regimes were also suspended. The case at one point seemed to be deadlocked, with no way out.
After Quang Nam and Da Nang merged in 2025, the Da Nang City Trade Union organization intervened, restarting the case by working with workers to review the case, complete the dossier, find appropriate handling directions and file lawsuits in court.
The case has not yet entered the trial process. However, Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd. has proactively paid debts to employees. More than 10.5 billion VND of social insurance debt and late payment interest have been recovered and put into the judgment enforcement account to continue procedures to resolve workers' rights.
The reason for Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd.'s proactive debt repayment comes from the drastic involvement of the Da Nang Trade Union organization. And this involvement has created more grounds for other agencies such as the Court, the Procuracy, the Department of Home Affairs, the Social Insurance agency, the government and related units to join in.
This result is first of all the common achievement of many agencies with different roles. But it is undeniable the leading role of the Trade Union with its responsibility, making every effort over the past year to connect, find a way and persistently promote resolution.
Before the Minh Hoang 2 Garment case, the Da Nang Trade Union also represented 58 Hoa Khanh Textile workers who went through the lawsuit process and by February 2026 were fully paid more than 3.2 billion VND.
And the Da Nang Trade Union is currently continuing to represent 117 workers, also of this enterprise, to demand nearly 3.3 billion VND in wages and severance allowances.
The most important lesson learned from these cases is that to effectively protect workers, the Da Nang Trade Union has been flexible and "flexible" in handling cases at specific times.
Dialogue, negotiation, and mediation with businesses are always prioritized in the dispute resolution process. However, when a case has been deadlocked for a long time, the Trade Union organization will proactively find a suitable legal path, and at the same time have enough prestige and bravery to coordinate and promote relevant agencies to act together.
Part of the strength of the Trade Union organization is shown in its ability to stand out to solve difficult problems, find a way when workers' rights are stuck and pursue the case to the ultimate goal.
More than 10.5 billion VND recovered at Minh Hoang 2 Garment is one of the specific results of that approach.
