Profits are declining, export orders face the risk of disruption due to rapid changes in tariff and global trade policies. Group leaders have worked many nights with international partners to negotiate and adjust contracts, in order to maintain orders and the presence of Vietnamese businesses in the global market.
FPT's story is not an isolated case. In 2025, hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese businesses have gone through major challenges, from tariff barriers to the shrinking of traditional export markets. It is in that adversity that the adaptability, bravery and resilience of the private economic sector continue to be affirmed.
Reality also shows that, besides the self-efforts of businesses, the constructive and accompanying role of the State is decisive in helping the private economic sector stand firm, recover and break through.
Over the years, private enterprises have grown with the country, with nearly 1.1 million businesses operating. This is the largest force in the economy, creating jobs for tens of millions of workers, making important contributions to the State budget, gradually bringing Vietnamese products and services to the global market.
From that practical foundation, the documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress have affirmed that the private economy is the most important driving force of the economy.
That message shows that the aspiration to rise of the business community is being placed in a clear, stable and long-term development orientation.
Businessmen want to get legitimately rich, protect their legitimate rights and interests, and compete fairly. The Party and State consistently affirm that "private economic development is an objective and long-term requirement" and protecting businesses is protecting the country's development resources.
The 14th Congress also set a decisive requirement: Breakthrough must begin with action. The private economy can only become the most important driving force of the economy when policies are organized and implemented decisively, consistently and ultimately, removing the real bottlenecks that are hindering businesses.
In the Report on documents submitted to the 14th Party Congress, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the spirit of "saying less - doing more - doing it to the end", considering the organization of implementation as the key stage determining the success or failure of all policies. This requires a strong shift from evaluation by reports to evaluation by results, from administrative management to management by responsibility and efficiency, taking the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure.
To do so, institutional breakthroughs must go hand in hand with implementation breakthroughs. Building an honest, professional, and responsible civil service system needs to be considered the foundation of an action apparatus, for development and for the people's service.
When the apparatus is truly moving, when the institution is operated smoothly, the aspiration of dedication of Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses will be liberated more strongly. At that time, the private economy will not only be a dynamic sector, but will truly become a key driving force, joining the country in entering a new stage of development - a stage of action, efficiency and aspiration to rise up.
