Greening the capital's traffic as soon as possible

“Hanoi is the most polluted in the world”, the negative information appearing in the press is a warning to the government and people about the danger they are facing, to have measures to handle, protect the living environment and protect the health of the community.

One of the proposed solutions is to switch from gasoline to green vehicles. Initially, Hanoi will ban certain types of vehicles that do not meet emission standards in Hoan Kiem and Ba Dinh districts.

A decision to change will of course affect a part of the population, but each person must realize that the change is for the common good, including the benefit of themselves and their families. Many means of transport are converted to use electricity, which will reduce air pollution, that is something everyone can clearly understand.

Poor workers who earn their living by working as motorbike taxi drivers and transporting goods need the government's support to change their means of transport. This aspiration is very legitimate. The government helps the poor use electric vehicles by providing partial support and encouraging businesses to reduce prices. The government, people and businesses work together to build a civilized and environmentally friendly capital.

But converting gasoline cars to electric cars is not just a matter of a few districts, but must be implemented throughout the city. All types of old, high-emission motor vehicles must be processed to ensure environmental protection standards. Converting not only motorbikes, but many other types of vehicles, to achieve the highest possible number of "green" vehicles.

In addition to "greening" private vehicles, the government must accelerate the program of "greening" public transport. In the capital, there will be no more gasoline-powered buses, only clean, modern electric vehicles. This is not difficult to do, the sooner the government does it the better.

Once it is determined that using green transportation is beneficial to the entire population, each citizen has the responsibility to participate. Those who have the conditions should proactively change, limit personal vehicles to travel by public transport, and develop the habit of using bicycles. The city government has increased the number of electric bicycle supply points to serve the people and tourists. To change the habit of people from motorbikes to bicycles, it is necessary to propagate, mobilize and create the best conditions for people to ride bicycles safely and conveniently.

We've talked a lot about protecting the environment, and we've talked a lot about how to keep Hanoi from being among the most polluted in the world. Now it's time for action.
