The Food Safety Department received information about the suspected food poisoning incident due to eatingholdings, causing 37 people to be hospitalized, including 33 students from Tan Tuc Secondary School, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
In the face of the above situation, the Food Safety Department issued an official dispatch requesting the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety to urgently direct hospitals with patients undergoing treatment to focus all resources to actively treat patients, not to affect their health and lives, and if necessary, to request support for professional consultation with upper-level hospitals.
Organize an investigation to clearly identify the cause of the suspected poisoning incident according to regulations, trace to the origin of the suspected food poisoning, take samples of food and medicine for testing to find the cause.
Temporarily suspend the operation of a facility suspected of causing poisoning, investigate the implementation of food safety regulations of the facility, strictly handle violations of food safety regulations (if any) and publicize the results to promptly warn the community.
Strengthen propaganda and guidance on production and business establishments, food service establishments, collective kitchens to ensure hygiene, food safety conditions, strictly implement the management of food raw materials, three -step testing, food samples and hygiene in processing stages. Propagating and educating people for food safety knowledge and food poisoning measures, in order to raise awareness, change behavior, habits that do not ensure food safety in selection, and use food, do not use food of unknown origin, labels and origin.
Strictly implement Official Dispatch 6495/BYT-ATTP and 271/ATTP-NDTT on strengthening poisoning prevention and ensuring food safety in 2025.

On March 30, Dr. Tran Chanh Xuan - Director of District 11 Hospital - said that among these, there were 33 patients aged 13-15, a 6-year-old child and three adults. The two children were hospitalized, the rest were given emergency care, prescribed medicine and monitored at home.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Khanh Phong Lan - Director of the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the food suspected of food poisoning was spinach purchased in District 6. The authorities have taken samples for testing, waiting for the results.
