On March 16, the leader of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province) confirmed that the authorities are clarifying and handling according to regulations the case of many people suspected of food poisoning that occurred at the Social Protection Center of Dak Lak province.
Previously, on March 15, the Office of the People's Council and the City People's Committee received information about a suspected food poisoning incident at the Social Protection Center (under the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health).
According to the verification results, there were a total of 14 people suspected of food poisoning. These are elderly and disabled people who are being cared for at the Dak Lak Provincial Social Protection Center.
On March 11, there was 1 person with a stomachache and was examined and treated by the center's medical department.
From March 12 to March 13, 13 people continued to have symptoms of abdominal pain, with loose stools. The center assigned people to perform examinations and give treatment according to symptoms.
On March 14, the Provincial Social Protection Center transferred 6 people (out of a total of 14 people) to Buon Ma Thuot General Hospital for treatment due to blood in stool and exhaustion.
After the cases gradually increased, the Social Protection Center inspected the care and cleaning of the campus.
