On May 21, the Ba Ria City Medical Center (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) had a plan to monitor and handle the COVID-19 outbreak at a high school in the area after detecting 3 students positive.
Previously, through investigation and verification, it was confirmed that there were 3 COVID-19 cases in Long Tam ward, studying at the same high school in 2 different classes. These are the first cases recorded in this school during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The medical team has conducted an epidemiological investigation at the school and households, and has not initially recorded any new cases. However, the medical team is continuing to review cases at risk to completely isolate and control the epidemic.
At the same time, the health sector also deploys simultaneous disinfection and environmental sanitation at schools, patient families and neighboring areas; guides people to use disinfectant solutions to clean surfaces, houses and household appliances.
In particular, cases are required to wear masks, self-isolate at home for at least 5 days and limit contact with others within 10 days. At the same time, strengthen epidemic monitoring within 8 days to quickly detect new cases (if any) and continue to disinfect at home and school.
In addition, the Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has also issued an urgent document, directing the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic in the whole province. Thereby, localities are required to strengthen inspection and supervision, promote measures, organize epidemic prevention and control in public places...; suggest people to limit large gatherings if not necessary, wear masks in public places..., proactively monitor health status to prevent and control COVID-19 for themselves and those close to them.
