On the afternoon of May 20, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province held a conference to collect comments on the draft Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Attending were representatives of socio-political organizations, religious dignitaries, intellectuals, lawyers... in Hai Duong province. Delegates expressed their consensus and high agreement with the policy of amending the Constitution to meet the requirements of national development in the new period.
The amendment is considered a correct decision, demonstrating the strategic vision and strong determination to innovate of the Party and State, contributing to streamlining the apparatus, improving management efficiency and promoting the people's mastery.

In addition to the agreement, many delegates proposed to clarify the role and position of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations in the revised Constitution.
Some opinions are concerned about the phrase "belonging to the Vietnam Fatherland Front" in the draft, proposing to clarify the content and adjust the apparatus organization accordingly, avoiding overlap, not eliminating the characteristics of each organization.
Regarding Article 9 of the 2013 Constitution, opinions proposed to amend in the direction of streamlining and improving the effectiveness of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations. Regarding administrative units, some delegates suggested that it is necessary to clearly stipulate in the Constitution the establishment, dissolution, merger, division, and adjustment of administrative boundaries; especially consulting the people in related decisions.
Regarding the questioning rights of the People's Council deputies, some suggestions do not abandon this provision, in order to enhance the supervision role of the People's Council, especially at the commune level. At the same time, proposal to consider the abolition of questioning rights to the Chief Justice of the People's Court and the Director of the People's Procuracy.
At the end of the conference, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province acknowledged and fully absorbed the comments to summarize and report to the competent authorities. The organization of widespread opinions among the people and social classes for the draft amendment of the 2013 Constitution continues to show the spirit of democracy, publicity and transparency, contributing to perfecting the legal foundation for the development of the country in the new period.
