On December 26, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee - signed an official dispatch directing the prevention and control of chickenpox epidemic that is at risk of breaking out from Giao Long Industrial Park (Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre).
According to this document, the current chickenpox epidemic situation in the province is becoming more complicated, especially from November 6 to December 24. At Alliance One Company (in Giao Long Industrial Park), a total of 83 cases of chickenpox were recorded, with many potential risks of widespread outbreaks.
In order to control the chickenpox epidemic situation in industrial zones in particular and the community in general, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province requested the Department of Health to strengthen epidemic surveillance, closely monitor the spread of chickenpox, to promptly detect cases of the disease or suspected cases to thoroughly handle the outbreak and provide timely treatment, minimizing the risk of disease outbreaks.
In addition, direct the Center for Disease Control to activate a rapid response team to be ready for epidemic prevention activities and provide professional support to grassroots levels, industrial parks and clusters when an outbreak occurs. At the same time, direct the Medical Centers, especially in areas with industrial parks and clusters, to coordinate with the Management Boards of industrial parks and clusters in monitoring and handling epidemics if they occur.
In addition, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province requested the Ben Tre Industrial Park Project Management Board to coordinate with the health sector, requesting companies and factories in industrial parks and clusters to strengthen propaganda to all workers and employees about chickenpox prevention and control. This activity should be carried out continuously and regularly during breaks so that everyone can grasp and coordinate implementation. Strictly implement the "mask - disinfection" measure throughout the working process. Encourage workers to get vaccinated against chickenpox to minimize the risk of infection.
Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee also requested the District People's Committees in Ben Tre Province to review, evaluate and develop plans to respond to chickenpox in the coming time. Allocate funds to ensure epidemic prevention and control. In case of an epidemic, it is necessary to strengthen supervision to promptly and effectively direct epidemic prevention and control plans.
