Quang Binh - The Provincial People's Council has agreed that the government will support 60 million VND/household in rebuilding and demolishing temporary and dilapidated houses.

31 resolutions passed

On December 11, at the closing session of the regular meeting at the end of 2024, the 18th term People's Council of Quang Binh province passed a resolution promulgating regulations on policies to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in Quang Binh province for the period 2024-2025.

At the meeting, the People's Council of Quang Binh province passed 31 important resolutions, creating a legal corridor for the management and operation of the Provincial People's Committee and authorities at all levels.

The meeting voted to approve the growth rate of the province's gross domestic product to reach 7.0 - 7.5%; the province's budget revenue to reach 6,500 - 7,000 billion VND; the total social investment capital to reach 37,000 billion VND; the average GRDP per capita to reach 71 - 72 million VND; and jobs to be created for 20,000 workers.

The resolutions aim at social security policies, taking care of the material and spiritual lives of the people, policy families, and workers; paying attention to socio-economic development in ethnic minority, border and mountainous areas...

Strive to complete before October 2025

In particular, the People's Council of Quang Binh province passed a resolution promulgating regulations on policies to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in Quang Binh province for the period 2024 - 2025.

As of November 15, the whole province still has about 2,154 poor and near-poor households living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses, and having housing difficulties that need support to improve and ensure safety, of which 1,120 households need support for new construction and 1,034 households need support for renovation and repair.

With the resolution to strive to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the period of 2024 - 2025, the support level for new construction is 60 million VND per house; the support level for renovation and repair is 30 million VND per house. The cost of new construction, renovation and repair of temporary and dilapidated houses is from the provincial budget and the source of saving 5% of regular expenditure of the state budget in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Huan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Binh province said that the resolution to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses contributes to the completion of the poverty reduction target set out in the resolution of the 17th Quang Binh Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, in the spirit of "Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind".

This resolution only stipulates the level of state support and stops at that level. The remaining solutions are included in other directives and plans to implement this work. Solving these shortcomings is the solution of all levels and sectors to implement, how to implement this policy well. The resolution affirms that the state funds for new construction are 60 million and renovation and repair are 30 million, the rest is used from other socialized sources.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Hai Chau said that the locality is focusing on eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole province, striving to complete before October 2025.
