Suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, Mr. Pham Anh Dung (HCMC) visited People's Hospital 115 (HCMC) for a regular check-up using his citizen identification card. Now, Mr. Dung was even more surprised when the hospital instructed him to update his electronic health record on the VNeID application (level 2 identification).
“Now, when going to the doctor, you only need a smartphone, no need to waste time looking for documents to bring. Moreover, your medical history is also fully displayed on the application,” Mr. Dung shared.
Not only Mr. Dung, many patients were also surprised when introduced to this application. Because registering for medical examination is quite convenient and quick. Medical staff continuously support, advise and guide people.
After registering for this application, Ms. Le Bich Thao (HCMC) shared that the steps to update information are quite simple. This will avoid wasting time and money when not bringing complete documents. Integrating medical examination and treatment information on the application also supports patients and doctors.
Doctor Nguyen Thanh Hai - Head of the Examination Department of People's Hospital 115 - commented that after initial difficulties, the rate of patients using citizen identification cards and the VNeID application to register for medical examination has reached about 99%.
This conversion brings great benefits to people such as reducing administrative procedures, reducing waiting time, congestion when going to the doctor, saving on travel costs and being able to check their own medical history. At the same time, it reduces data entry time for medical staff, increases accuracy and prevents the use of other people's health insurance cards.
Many hospitals in the city are urgently implementing instructions for patients to use electronic health books on the VNelD application such as Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Traditional Medicine, Thu Duc City Hospital...
As of early November 2024, Ho Chi Minh City had more than 1 million electronic health books integrated on the VNeID application, more than 58,000 re-examination appointment papers and more than 5,000 referral papers integrated on the VNeID application.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has launched a 55-day and night campaign to effectively deploy electronic health books on the VNeID application at medical examination and treatment facilities.
According to Associate Professor Tang Chi Thuong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the electronic health book on the VNeID application is an effective tool for managing people's health and monitoring and managing community health. This is also a platform for connecting medical facility data with each other, building a digital health ecosystem, serving people's health care.
