Accordingly, People's Hospital 115 (HCMC) in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City University Medical Center Hospital and Hue Central Hospital successfully performed surgery to remove and transplant organs from organ donors due to brain death.
The organ donor is Mr. N.P. M. N (born in 1994), admitted to the hospital at 8:42 am on June 2, 2026 in a state of large cerebral hemorrhage, no longer able to be treated. After being consulted and determined brain death according to professional procedures, the patient's family decided to donate tissues and organs to help another patient.
From the coordination of the National Coordination Center for Human Organ Transplantation, specialized teams of three major hospitals have urgently coordinated and implemented the organ extraction and transplantation process in accordance with regulations, ensuring urgency and absolute safety.
On the same night, People's Hospital 115 successfully performed kidney transplants for two patients with end-stage kidney failure. At the same time, the team of Ho Chi Minh City University Medical Center Hospital successfully performed heart transplants for a pediatric patient with end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy. Currently, patients after transplantation have stable progress, and continue to be monitored and treated actively.
According to doctors, each organ donation case from a brain-dead person is not only a medical decision but also a profound humane action, opening up life opportunities for many people standing on the line between life and death.
Representatives of People's Hospital 115 expressed their deep gratitude to the donor and his family, and emphasized that this gesture has spread a strong message about compassion, sharing and responsibility to the community.
