Gia Lai - Doctors perform traumatic brain surgery to save a critically injured child.

On March 26, news from Hoang Anh Gia Lai University Medical Center Hospital said that they had just saved and successfully treated a severe traumatic brain injury case, bringing a child patient from a deep coma back to normal.

Patient P.V. V. (13 years old, residing in Gia Lai province) was brought to the Emergency Department in a state of deep coma after a traffic accident.

Immediately upon admission, the patient was examined urgently and performed necessary paraclinical tests. The results showed epidural hematoma of the cerebral hemisphere, compressing brain parenchyma, a condition that could be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Faced with a critical situation, with the goal of regaining life and protecting the future of the young patient, the emergency team quickly coordinated with neurosurgeons to urgently consult and decided to perform emergency surgery, perform skull resection to remove epidural hematoma, and release brain compression...

After surgery, the patient was monitored and actively cared for. Currently, the patient is awake, his indicators are stable, recovering well and gradually returning to normal life.
