On September 2nd, Long An General Hospital (Tay Ninh) said it had just received and performed emergency surgery on a farmer who suffered a serious spleen injury after a sudden fall while cutting grass for cows.
Patient D. V. T (resident of My Yen commune) was transferred to the Emergency Department of Long An General Hospital on August 31 in a state of dizziness, nausea and severe pain in the left hypochondrium.
According to family members, before that, the patient was cutting grass for cows to eat when he suddenly felt dizzy and fell. The patient's left hypochondrium strongly hit the turtle car. After the accident, the patient was taken to Ben Luc Regional Medical Center for first aid and then transferred to Long An General Hospital for further treatment.
At the hospital, the patient had pink skin and mucous membranes, dizziness, nausea, and painful breathing, and was quickly examined, treated and assessed by doctors of the Emergency Department for the injury condition. After consultation, the patient was handed over to the General Surgery Department.
Through evaluation, doctors determined that the patient had severe spleen injury and needed emergency surgery. During the surgery, the patient lost about 2,500ml of blood, and the General Surgery Department team quickly proceeded to remove the spleen, control and stop the bleeding.
Thanks to being received, evaluated and treated promptly, the surgery took place safely. Currently, the patient's health is stable, and doctors are closely monitoring and continuing post-operative treatment.
