On the occasion of becoming the global ambassador of the Goc Tu Cancer Prevention Project, Runner-up Thu Huong said that she had discovered cervical cancer 5 years ago.
As a person who loves playing sports, is extremely careful in eating and living scientifically, but once she happened to see a doctor and discovered that she had cervical cancer, one of the diseases with the highest rate of women today.
Sharing about this, the runner-up said she was very lucky to have discovered cancer at an early stage, so in her case, only cervical cutting surgery was needed, not chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Through research on her disease, she learned that cervical cancer is common in women, but if detected early, treatment is simple, the success rate is up to 100%. She hopes to share knowledge of cancer prevention from Goc to reduce the rate of cancer deaths in Vietnam today.

Cervical cancer has 4 main stages and the first stage is called on-site neurological cancer. At this stage, cancer cells are only forming in the superficial layer, not yet deeply developing in the tissues, with almost no signs of early cervical cancer. Health changes in people with cervical cancer are much more difficult to notice than in cancer in other parts of the body. Therefore, women cannot recognize that they have the disease without going to a gynecological examination.
When it is in the late stages, the patient may have symptoms such as:
- Unusual vaginal bleeding: Women who have been menopausal for many years, suddenly have unreasonable vaginal bleeding, have low blood volume and are not accompanied by symptoms of abdominal pain and back pain
- High vaginal trans flare: High white blood count, changes in both nature, smell and color
- pelvic and back pain: As the disease becomes more severe, the pain will continue to spread to the legs and cause swelling in both legs
- Pneumonia: Sudden pain around the pelvic area or cramps even during days without menstruation
- Unusual in urination: The body leaks urine even when sneezing, moves vigorously, mixed blood in urine, pain when urinating...
- Unusual menstrual cycle: Late menstruation, prolonged menstruation, dark black fecal blood...
- Heavy, abnormal vaginal bleeding, changing smell and color are some of the signs of cervical cancer in the late stages.
