Dien Bien checks the quality of bean sprouts at business establishments

    After discovering thousands of tons of bean sprouts soaked in banned chemicals in Dak Lak, the Dien Bien Department of Health has directed the inspection of bean sprouts at business establishments.

    On the afternoon of December 30, an interdisciplinary monitoring team of the Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Bien province inspected bean sprouts at supermarkets and markets in Dien Bien Phu city.

    The inspection results showed that there were no bean sprouts for sale at two major supermarkets (Hoa Ba supermarket and Tam Do supermarket). The Vinmart supermarket system also ran out of bean sprouts. Previously, the Vinmart system imported bean sprouts according to the Corporation's system, with clear traceability and product quality declaration.

    In addition, in the markets in Dien Bien Phu City, there are some households selling bean sprouts produced by local people in small quantities. After inspection, the monitoring team assessed that the bean sprout products can be used safely (long, thin bean sprouts, with many roots and leaves).
