1. Incubation stage
The incubation phase can range from 1-3 weeks, can start quickly in a few days, but some cases record incubation up to 8 weeks after exposure. During this time, the virus begins to multiply but does not cause obvious clinical symptoms.
2. Starting stage
The onset stage appears with flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle pain, headache. Some cases have additional digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea. If the patient has epidemiological factors related to rodents, they need to have an early medical examination to be assessed and intervened in time.
3. Cardiopulmonary stage
The heart-lung stage is the most severe stage of the disease. At this time, the patient has signs of dry cough, gradually increasing shortness of breath due to fluid accumulation in the lungs. In addition, the cardiovascular system is also affected with manifestations of low blood pressure and heart rhythm disorders. Patients need to be treated at the intensive care unit to support breathing, control fluids, and monitor heart-lung function continuously.
4. Recovery phase
When the heart-lung stage is over, the patient enters the recovery phase with gradual improvement of respiratory and circulatory functions. Fluid in the lungs is absorbed, shortness of breath gradually decreases, vital signs stabilize again. However, the recovery process may be prolonged, the patient may still feel tired, reduced endurance or mild shortness of breath for a period of time.
