Changes in the approach to issues of the new term delegates
The election of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term takes place in the context that the country is facing intertwined opportunities and challenges of the era of rise.
Looking back at that all-people festival, the most profound thing that remains is the political awareness and people's belief in the institution. Each ballot is not only a right but also a "trust contract" that the people have entrusted and "signed" with their representatives.
Speaking at the opening of the First Session of the 16th National Assembly, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the successful election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is the result of a process of elaborate and careful preparation, methodical and professional organization, and the very high support and consensus of voters and people nationwide.
After the election day, the pace of the 16th National Assembly immediately moved at a high speed. The first sessions of the First Session starting on personnel work have truly become a forum for delegates to show their bravery. The atmosphere in the hall in the early days of the term showed a strong shift in working methods: more professional, more drastic and closer to the breath of life.
At the group discussions and hall discussions, delegates showed the spirit of "straightforward - constructive". Issues of perfecting institutions, unlocking economic resources and solving "bottlenecks" in public investment were clearly pointed out by the delegates.
Through such discussion sessions, voters can easily see the change in the approach to issues of the new term deputies. Instead of widespread speeches, many deputies went straight to the inadequacies in legal documents that are causing difficulties for businesses and people. In particular, digital transformation in the activities of the National Assembly continues to be promoted. The use of information technology in document lookup, voting and interaction between deputies and voters has helped shorten the gap and increase transparency.
This atmosphere of innovation has dispelled concerns about "new delegates are still unfamiliar", replaced by the image of an intelligent collective, ready to face the difficult problems of the country. The heat of the parliament lies not only in the GDP growth figures or macroeconomic indicators, but also in the concerns about social security.
Under the leadership of the Party, the administration of the Government and the close supervision of the National Assembly, a new impetus has been created, further strengthening the belief that the 16th National Assembly will be an action parliament.
Not just promises, but actions

The biggest expectation of voters for the 16th National Assembly is the substance of the delegates. The people not only need "good words and beautiful ideas" in the action program during the election campaign, but also need hands raised at the right time, sharp critical voices for the interests of the majority.
Delegate Dang Bich Ngoc (delegation of National Assembly deputies of Phu Tho province) affirmed that the First Session of the 16th National Assembly opens a new term with many beliefs and expectations, especially the entrustment of voters and people to the National Assembly deputies. "With my responsibility and enthusiasm, along with practical experience from the locality, I will continue to listen and fully synthesize the opinions and recommendations of voters and people who are interested. Law-making work is set out requiring each National Assembly deputy with the role of representing voters to have an important voice, contributing to perfecting the legal system in the current context and stage" - delegate Dang Bich Ngoc said.
This female delegate believes that with the consensus and responsibility of the National Assembly, along with the close coordination of the Government and relevant agencies, we will gradually improve the institutional system, create strong motivation for development, and contribute to the successful implementation of the goals set out by the Party and the State.
Delegate Pham Van Hoa (Dong Thap delegation) shared that he personally understands that every minute sitting in the hall is every minute carrying on his shoulders the expectations of tens of thousands of voters. In the sessions, the biggest pressure is not to speak well, but to make the recommendations of voters in their constituency transformed into clauses in law or supreme supervisory resolutions. "Deputies must be a living bridge, not allowed to "fall asleep" after being elected" - delegate Pham Van Hoa emphasized.
Reality shows that the quality of a National Assembly term depends greatly on the bravery of each individual delegate. Voters want to see delegates who dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do and dare to take responsibility. Pressing issues from practice such as the situation of officials avoiding and shirking responsibility or inadequacies in land management, natural resources and environment need to be brought to the light of the National Assembly with the most resolute attitude.
Besides the legislative role, the supreme supervisory function is also expected to have breakthroughs. Voters expect the 16th National Assembly to supervise to the end the issues that have been questioned, not to let the situation of "promise and then leave it". Delegates need to stick to the field, go deep into difficult areas, listen to the voices of the disadvantaged so that each policy issued carries the warmth of life. The road ahead of the 16th National Assembly is still very long with many important tasks. To disappoint the trust of voters, each delegate must self-examine, self-cultivate to truly be a "representative of the people", always putting national and ethnic interests first.
