According to a report by the Tay Nguyen Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, in Lam Dong province, as of August 10, 2026, the whole province recorded 3,150 cases of Dengue hemorrhagic fever, a rate of 81.3/100,000 people, an increase of 1.9% compared to the same period in 2025.
Notably, Lam Dong province recorded 79 severe cases and 1 death in Quang Tin commune. Cases appeared in 122/124 communes, wards, and special zones.
Currently, the weather in Lam Dong is the rainy season. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for disease-transmitting mosquitoes to develop, increasing the risk of dengue fever outbreaks and spreading.
In this context, the Department of Health of Lam Dong province has just issued an urgent Official Dispatch (No. 6457) requesting the People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones, the Provincial Center for Disease Control and medical examination and treatment facilities in the area to strengthen measures to prevent and control dengue fever.
Units and localities need to proactively control the situation, limit the number of cases, reduce severe cases and deaths.

The Provincial Center for Disease Control strengthens inspection and support for localities with epidemics or high risks; guides the zoning and early and thorough handling of outbreaks and organizes spraying chemicals to kill mosquitoes in risky areas according to regulations.
At the same time, urge localities to organize campaigns to destroy larvae and pupae regularly and continuously, especially in areas with outbreaks.
In addition, strengthen communication to help people recognize signs of the disease, proactively remove mosquito breeding sites and go to medical facilities when there are suspected signs or severe developments.
Medical examination and treatment facilities must strengthen examination, early detection, classification, admission and treatment of patients; pay attention to identifying warning signs, ensuring medicines, intravenous fluids, supplies, equipment and proactively plans for referrals, minimizing severe complications and deaths.

Localities organize general cleaning, remove waste materials that may contain water and kill larvae and pupae in households, agencies, schools, and public areas.
