According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), hand, foot and mouth disease is one of the common infectious diseases in young children. Recently, the epidemic situation has been complicated, with the number of cases tending to increase in many provinces and cities, including Ho Chi Minh City.
HCDC statistics show that since the beginning of the year, Ho Chi Minh City has had more than 10,200 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, 1.5 times higher than the same period in 2024. Districts with cases over 100,000 people are Binh Tan district, Nha Be district and District 7.
The number of cases in week 24 (from June 9 to 15) showed signs of a slight decrease compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks. However, the total number of accumulated cases still shows the risk of outbreak and spread if there are no strict control measures.

These complications can leave serious sequelae or even threaten the life of children.
HCDC assessed that without a vaccine or specific treatment, disease prevention from daily routine is still the most effective measure.
