On January 15, at the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council, Head of the Health Sub-committee serving the 14th National Congress of the Party - chaired a meeting to review the progress of health work to ensure serving the Congress.
At the meeting, delegates reviewed more than 30 task categories to ensure health work to serve the Congress. According to the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - the standing unit for health work, to date, the Ministry of Health has mobilized more than 300 health officials to participate in serving the 14th National Party Congress.
Specifically in Hanoi, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requests hospitals and institutes with hospital beds to arrange 5-10 emergency beds per unit, ensuring patient reception upon request. Each hospital and institute arranges at least one medical team and ambulance to be on duty 24/24 hours from 1:00 PM on January 18, 2026 until the end of the Congress, ready to participate in outpatient emergency care. During the Congress, members of the Professional Council will rotate to be on duty at the Center to promptly respond and handle arising medical situations.
In addition, the Military Medical Department (Ministry of National Defense) arranged 9 health teams and 1 disaster relief team; the Department of Health (Ministry of Public Security) arranged 1 health team. The Food Safety Department and the Department of Disease Prevention closely coordinated with the Hanoi Department of Health, Hanoi CDC to strengthen food safety surveillance, disease prevention and control, and control water sources at hotels and congress venues. Plans for disease prevention and control, and food poisoning prevention and control are ready to be implemented.
Dr. Ha Anh Duc - Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - said that the Health Sub-committee has developed a Health Handbook and issued it to relevant units to facilitate information and coordination. At the same time, he requested members of the Health Team to seriously perform their roles and responsibilities, in the correct assigned positions throughout the Congress.
Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan requested units to continue to review and implement the plan to ensure health work that has been issued by the Ministry of Health since 2025 and newly updated contents; assign clear duty schedules; ensure full and flexible logistics and medicine work. Head of the Sub-Department of Health emphasized that officials and medical experts need to maximize the spirit of responsibility, intelligence and expertise to ensure that health work serving the Congress takes place safely and effectively.
