Recorded on June 2nd, many people in Thanh An commune were given free health check-ups. Implementing the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, from now until June 5th, Tu Du Hospital, facility 2 (Can Gio) organizes a free health check-up program for people in Thanh An commune.

The program aims to conduct general health screening for 100% of people aged 18 and over in Thieng Lieng, Thanh Binh and Thanh Hoa hamlets (Thanh An commune), thereby providing timely advice and intervention, contributing to improving the overall physical health of the people. According to the plan, about 3,428 people aged 18 and over in Thanh An commune will be examined.
The hospital has organized a screening team, disease screening and performed paraclinical tests. Screening with 7 specialties including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, eye, maxillofacial, ear, nose, throat and dermatology. In addition, the program also performs paraclinical tests such as general abdominal ultrasound, straight chest X-ray and blood biochemical tests.

The all-people free health check-up activity is not only taking place in one location but is also being continued by the Ho Chi Minh City health sector in 168 wards, communes, and special zones.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the universal health check program will be implemented for all residents actually residing in the city, including both permanent and temporary residents, verified through the VNeID electronic identification platform.
The program starts from May 2026. In terms of scale, it is expected to provide medical examinations for about 15 million people in 2026, with the goal of 100% of people in 168 wards, communes, and special zones being examined at least once a year. The total estimated cost in 2026 is about 2,507 billion VND for 10.3 million people.
9 communes and special zones: An Nhon Tay, Ba Diem, Hiep Phuoc, Tan Nhut, Thanh An, Bac Tan Uyen, Dat Do, Ho Tram and Con Dao special zone are the first areas of Ho Chi Minh City that local leaders agreed with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to accelerate the implementation of the universal health check program with the determination to basically complete it in the second quarter of 2026.
