Stroke is an urgent threat to public health and is one of the leading causes of death and disability in Vietnam.
According to statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021, Vietnam recorded more than 167 deaths from stroke per 100,000 people. More worryingly, the trend of rejuvenation in stroke cases is increasing, which creates a large cost burden for society.

The "National Strategic Cooperation on stroke prevention and management in Vietnam" program was developed with the goal of creating a comprehensive, breakthrough stroke prevention and management plan.
According to Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health, stroke is the leading cause of death and disability in Vietnam. The spirit of Resolutions 57-NQ/TW and 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo is the foundation for orientation for the transition from healthcare to preventive medicine, from response to proactiveness, from individual to inter-sectoral cooperation.
The launch of the National Stroke Prevention and Management Program is a concrete step to realize this goal, towards a smart, humane healthcare system and taking people as the center.

In this initial phase, key activities include: building a website for information Slycerism - Early detection, Quick action, developing a multi-platform communication system, and especially bringing propaganda information, health recommendations, instructions for stroke recognition and prevention to each person through a system of more than 2,400 pharmacies and 200 Long Chau vaccination centers nationwide, the application of AI in consultation and early diagnosis of stroke risk. These are breakthrough initiatives, the first time the community pharmacy network has been mobilized as a proactive health communication channel, closest and most effective to the people - the Deputy Minister of Health shared.
Bayer Vietnam representative, Mr. James Alexander - Director of Pharmaceutical Branch - pledged to provide maximum professional and scientific support for this national cooperation program: "We consider this an important responsibility in improving the quality of primary health care, helping Vietnamese people access knowledge and solutions for effective stroke prevention and management, thereby significantly reducing the burden of disease, improving services and accessing high-quality healthcare in Vietnam".

Ms. Nguyen Bach Diep - President of FPT Retail and General Director of the system of pharmacies and vaccination centers in Long Chau - affirmed: "In the context of chronic non-communicable diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases and stroke, becoming a danger and burden to society, protecting public health must start with raising awareness, early screening, risk management and closely combining with scientific treatment solutions.
Based on the spirit of Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 282/NQ-CP of the Government, Long Chau is committed to working with health agencies, hospitals, experts and leading strategic partners to implement a series of programs to help reduce and raise awareness of health care, contributing to a healthier Vietnam.
